With the success of the hit teleplay “Nirvana in Fire”,the type of the leading characters who are both omnipotent and omniscient have drawn unprecedented attention. These omniscience,as the key role of the play, can not only know everything about all kinds of incidents, every move of other characters, but also make overall arrangement for the whole plot. This efficiently increase the fluency of the plot and makes it energetic as well.On the other hand, the audience who are tired of the traditional “growing mode” of the leading characters, also have no need to pay attention to the growing-up details.Instead, they can overlook the whole story in a higher point of view, and achieve the aesthetic peak experienceHowever, there are still problems of how to set the ability of omniscience to an acceptable level. The leading characters are highly likely to be described as too unbeatable attributing to the mentality of pursuing “exciting” plots, which makes the plot unreal and deficient of content. The shaping of a decent omniscience has a lot more to concern about. The character needs not only the good aspects like all-knowing ability but also the bad ones such as the unexpected setback, the uncontrolled situations and so on.These accidents are beneficial for enriching the image of the characters. As a typical teleplay with the omniscient leading character,“Nirvana In Fire” has advantages in the character shaping. But it also inevitably steps into a stereotyped pattern. This paper is intended to exploit the features of the shaping of the omniscience, analyze its influence on the play narrating and its relationship with audiences' aesthetic concepts, and show the advantages and drawbacks.
