Yuan Mei’s Exposition And Argumentation Concerning The Study Of Confucian Classics With The Ideological Connotations Of Zi Bu Yu

Yuan Mei is one of the most influential litterateurs in the middle of Qing Dynasty,he has many writings during his lifetime.He Made proud achievements in poetry,prose,parallel prose,novels,textual research and literature theory etc.His novel named Zi Bu Yu,as famous as"tales of Liao Zhai"’ and "sketches of YueWei Humble Cottage",has become one of the most influential classical novels in the middle of Qing dynasty by right of its profound ideological connotation and unique artistic charm.This thesis is called "Yuan Mei’s exposition and argumentation concerning the study of Confucian Classics with the ideological connotations of Zi Bu Yu".The author will hackle and research on Yuan Mei’s exposition and argumentation concerning the study of Confucian Classics in his writings as comprehensively as possible,based on wide reading many source materials including his poetry,prose,a model of epistolary art,notes on poets and poetry and so on.At the same time,the author will observe and study the inner logic or theoretical basis of the ideological connotations of Zi Bu Yu with Yuan Mei’s exposition and argumentation concerning the study of Confucian Classics,and furtherly discuss how the basic standpoint of the study of Confucian Classics,advanced human-orientation thought and enlightened view of women,which are communicated from Yuan Mei’s exposition and argumentation concerning the study of Confucian Classics,are reflected in Zi Bu Yu,so as to broaden and deepen the study of Zi Bu Yu and Yuan Mei’s thought.Except for exordium,epilogue and appendix,this thesis is divided into four parts:Part one:Hackling and researching on Yuan Mei’s exposition and argumentation concerning the study of Confucian Classics in his writings.In this part,the author will hackle and research on Yuan Mei’s exposition and argumentation concerning the study of Confucian Classics in his writings as comprehensively as possible,based on wide reading many source materials including his poetry,prose,a model of epistolary art,eight-episode essay,notes on poets and poetry and so on,so as to refine the thought of Confucian Classics of Yuan Mei from various angles and levels.Part two:The embodiment of Yuan Mei’s basic standpoint of the study of Confucian Classics in Zi Bu Yu.In this part,the author will discuss how Yuan Mei’s basic standpoint of the study of Confucian Classics,including "daring to query the authority of the Confucian Classics and pursuing an independent and rational view of Confucian Classics","objectively evaluating the Han and the Song theory,not only objecting to the Han theory,but also critiquing the Song theory","strongly emphasizing the practicality of the study of Confucian Classics,advocating real learning,against the eight-episode essay" etc,are reflected in Zi Bu Yu by reading in detail through the text of Zi Bu Yu.Part three:The embodiment of advanced human-orientation thought from Yuan Mei’s exposition and argumentation concerning the study of Confucian Classics in Zi Bu Yu.In this part,the author will mainly focus on how the human-orientation thought from Yuan Mei’s exposition and argumentation concerning the study of Confucian Classics,including "attaching importance to individual life","concerning about people’s livelihood","rightful desire conforming to heavenly principles "," Confucian doctrine of filial piety forming the foundation of human being" etc,are vividly reflected in Zi Bu Yu.Part four:The embodiment of enlightened view of women from Yuan Mei’s exposition and argumentation concerning the study of Confucian Classics in Zi Bu Yu.In this part,the author will analyze how enlightened view of women from Yuan Mei’s exposition and argumentation concerning the study of Confucian Classics,just as"affirming female status","respecting for female personality" etc,are reflected in Zi Bu Yu and its basis of Confucian Classics based on reading in detail through the text of Zi Bu Yu.
