People's pursuit of happiness has never stopped, and happiness itself is really something worthy our pursuit. This is not only a philosophical problem, but also the social problems of people's livelihood. In the process of our pursuit of happiness, the relationship between virtue and happiness is a key aspect that we cannot cross.Virtue and happiness are inseparable, the discussions on the relationship between virtue and happiness grows deeper with the development of the theory of the pursuit of happiness. The contemporary British moral philosopher Julia Annas made a detailed and in-depth study of the on virtue and happiness. On the basis of the previous theory, she put forward the concept of intelligent wisdom.Annas' s view is the inheritance and development of Aristotle, she begins with the meaning of happiness from the Greek, she deeply explores the concept and essence of the ultimate goal of life--happiness and virtue, the relationship between happiness and virtue, and the behaviors of virtue and some other issues based on the interpretation of western classical moral thoughts. It greatly boost the development of western virtue ethnics, and it is also of great significance to us today to fully understand virtue and virtue ethnics.Aristotle is a western moral philosopher who first established the whole system of the western virtue ethnics based on inheriting and transforming Socrates and Plato's ideas. His moral ethics is very rich, but happiness, virtue and practical wisdom(also translated as "wise")is its basic category, his ethics system is built on these three basic categories.Julia Annas' s ethical thought is the promotion and development of Aristotle in the contemporary era.Julia Annas mainly focuses on the issue of happiness and virtue and their interrelationships. She has made an in-depth explanation of the theory of classical virtue ethicists such as Aristotle, according to her own research.Annas' s virtue thoughts are origin from the reflection of the ultimate purpose of human life. She agrees with the view of ancient ethics that the entrance to ethical reflection is "the actor's reflection on his or her own life as a whole and the relative importance of his or her various purposes".She points out that the entrance to ancient ethical reflection is to regard a person's life as a whole, and reflection leads to a person's purpose. The ultimate purpose of the actor is generally seen as happiness, happiness is the overall way that I have my life. She argues that virtue is a continuing characteristic of a person and a tendency for the person to become a certain way.Virtue is a problem of quality, and different virtue and vicious constitute quality in different areas of life. The form of happiness is the general way of life,so no matter what kind of life we are in,there is interaction between happiness and vicious virtue.Virtue ethnics gets the most criticism in the process of revival mainly because that of moral ethics is hardly involved in social norms and thus can not provide guidance for people's behavior.Julia Annas puts forward the concept of Intelligent Virtue against the critism, and she makes a positive description of the behavior of guidance, virtue Behavior, legitimate behavior and other issues in the book "intellectual virtue".If Julia Annas' s idea of happiness, virtue and interrelationships is mainly the interpretation of the classical thoughts, then her thoughts about intellectual virtue can be regarded as the development of classical thought. In the course of the revival of Western virtue ethics,Holstein House,Cocos,Buick and a large number of ethicists devoted to the interpretation, analysis, promotion and development of Western classical ethics.Julia Annas is one of the ethicists who express the criticism of modern ethics and her own virtues by elucidating classical moral ethics.Julia Annas' s elaborate interpretation of classical moralism, based on this interpretation of the unique views of happiness, virtue and their interrelationships,in particular through the elaboration of the concept of "intellectual virtue",it responds to the accusations of moral ethics of other ethics schools,an this has strongly promoted the development of western virtue ethics.Julia Annas' s unique contribution and value to classical moral ethics is not only important for today's comprehensive and correct understanding of virtue and virtue ethics, but also for useful inspirations and reference to the construction of our current moral and mainstream values.
