Since 1950's, there was a revolution on the revival of virtue ethics in western academe of eyhics, and Aristotle's Virtue Ethics is considered to be the best solution of this crisis. Aristotle introduced "virtue" systematically in Nicomachean Ethics, and the academic resources of modern virtue ethics almost came from Aristotle's idea. Studing this book can help you understand the deep-seated meaning of "virtue" and correct the mistakes of rule ethic.This article did research on Aristotle's theory about virtue in Nicomachean Ethics by following the conception of virtue. Aristotle's theory of ethic was builded on the base of valuable achievement of predecessors, and it served the Greek who lived in a kind of city-state political life.Virtue is core conception of this book, and it is a quality which can help people to live a happy life. Aristotle divided virtue into two parts by the nature of human being: the first part is virtue of character; the second part is virtue of intellectual. Intermediacy is the center of Aristotle's Virtue Ethics, excess and shortage are two kind of shortcoming which was divided to both sides. In the end of this book,Aristotle told about happiness which is the purpose of virtue. In his opinion, happiness and virtue have never been apart. Happiness was not outside-kindness but inside-kindness. Aristotle thought happiness was the ultimate goal of human being, the only way to get it is that living a life suiting for virtue.The western society had moral crisis because of the excessive attention of rule and the despise of virtue since the Enlightment. Alasdair Macintyre thought the only solution of this problem is " back to Aristotle ". Studing Aristotle's virtue ethic not only can prompted us to reflect on current moral education but also help us to be a real man of virtue.
