On The Stage Design Of Traditional Chinese Opera (1980-2010)

The stage design is an indispensable part of traditional opera performance.As the visual language to transfer background,plot,character and connotation of the traditional opera for the audience,traditional stage design also inheriting the spirit of traditional opera aesthetics.On the traditional opera stage,four departments —stage design,lighting,clothing and make up work together,mutually shaping the visual image of the traditional opera.From 1980 to 2010,the stage design of the traditional opera experienced a series of twists and turns of exploration and innovation,showing the new face of mature development.Based on the current situation that the study of contemporary stage design is lagging behind the stage practice,this paper respectively summarizes the characteristics of contemporary stage design through inheritance and innovation,reference and revitalization,aims to find new problems and think about its development.The paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction part,distinguishes the traditional opera stage design,the modern stage design,and the contemporary stage design,it points out the research significance and the research status of the paper were reviewed.The second chapter is the study of inheritance and innovation of stage design.There are examples to demonstrate the inheritance of principles from traditional opera stage.Then the theme of contemporary drama,technology in the contemporary stage design as well as the application stage designer is summarized in three aspects: the personalized contemporary stage style,the combination of modern technology and art,and stage designer cooperation with the director.The third chapter on the one hand,based on the traditional opera stage design draw lessons from western drama stage,summary and analyze the new characteristics of its expressive,conciseness,on the other hand for contemporary stage design of the pursuit of national aesthetic spirit to analyze its beauty,and characteristics of new disconnection.The fourth chapter on the basis of the second and third chapters,makes a discussion on the damage contemporary stage design has made on the rule of traditional opera stage,and further discusses the question of “big production”,finally puts forward the thinking of the development of traditional opera stage in the future.
