| Cultural heritage is a valuable treasure left by our ancestors and it has a close relationship with the public since it was created. The inhabitants, as the internal public of cultural heritage, sacrificed a lot for the protection of cultural relics; in return, they also have the opportunities to benefit from it. Meanwhile, the people outside the site can be considered as the potential power to protect the cultural heritage because they are willing to learn the historical culture. That is to say that both the cultural heritage and the public are the whole and cannot be divided. Among the cultural heritage, the Han Chang’an city site has a close relationship with the ordinary people because of its large area. Therefore, the research on the protection and development of Han Chang’an city from the perspective of public has a certain practical significance.This paper adopts a series of means and methods such as field study, focus group discussion, questionnaire survey, internet survey, and so on, which can be helpful to analyze the present situation of Han Chang’an city site and reveal the contradiction between the public and the site. The result is that the confliction between inside inhabitant and Han Chang’an city site are frequent; in addition, the outside people only have a shallow recognition about it. In the following part, the author will put up with some solutions for the protection and future development of Han Chang’an city from the perspective of public. First of all, the concerned departments are expected to gradually ease up the contradiction between inside inhabitant and the site, on the basis of arranging the relocated families well. Second, it is supposed to attract more visitors by the mean of innovative exhibition. Third, it should enlarge the popularity of site with the help of public media; at the same time, it needs to raise the awareness of public to protect the site by educating them. Last but not least, it also can support the civil society to encourage more people to participate in the protection and development of cultural heritage. |
