As one of the best artist of the abstract expressionism color gamut painting, Mark Rothko start the style of color gamut of abstract expressionism painting in the late 1940s, which had a profound impact on the development of the US modern abstract expressionist paintings after world war ii. With his unique artistic language and expression form, he used minimalist compositions and fuzzy color piece that changed the traditional painting idea. Creating a typical, simple symbolic language to express complicated ideas of modern painting. His painting advocated the elimination of oneself, to achieve a kind of abstraction of the state of meditation. It's a kind of fuzzy state of consciousness, change and ambiguity, which has a strong visual appeal.In this paper, I study the appearance and of "fuzzy" in Rothko's painting and its application by exploring the Rothko painting language, learning the social background, tracing the root of the painting language, combining with its handling of pictures understand aesthetics and "fuzzy" that bring the change of the viewer's aesthetic experience. As an Americans and jewish descent, Rothko joined the western painting as an outsider. His achievements in "color gamut painting" is the contemporary painting and opportunities of the split between European painting, his paintings give us a quiet contemplation of nature and the color gamut of chaos agitate the hearts of contemporary artists without a doubt.
