Study On The Dragon Boat Festival Poetry Of Tang Dynasty

Based on the dual perspective of the literature and folklore, this article starting from the analysis of the Dragon Boat Festival poetry, inquiry in explore poetries about the festival customs and social life in the Tang Dynasty. The article is divided into five parts:the first part is the introduction, introducing the background of the topic and the research status of the related fields. The second part, based on the research of folklore, investigates the origins and development of Dragon Boat Festival in different historical periods and the new situations of Dragon Boat Festival in Tang Dynasty. The third chapter is the core part of the article. Firstly, it defines the research object, namely, the Dragon Boat Festival poetry in Tang Dynasty, and then explores the different types of festivals and customs such as diet custom, evil practices, recreational activities, social activities and their reflection in the poetry of Dragon Boat Festival in Tang Dynasty. Furthermore, it discusses the life style in the Tang Dynasty embodied in the contents of those poetries, which are totally different from that of the previous people. Finally author puts forward her own conclusions and thinks that the different customs and activities of the Dragon Boat Festival are coexist in the Tang Dynasty, expounding the complex characteristics of the festival customs. When talking about the Dragon Boat Festival, the historical person Qu Yuan should not be neglected. Therefore the fourth part, from the origin of the commemoration of Qu Yuan in the Dragon Boat Festival, analyzes the combination of Qu Yuan and the Dragon Boat Festival, make a study on that part involved in the poetries in the Tang Dynasty in order to enrich the content of the thesis. Finally on the basis of thorough investigation and analysis of the Dragon Boat Festival poetry of the Tang Dynasty sums up the cultural functions of Dragon Boat Festival poetry of the Tang Dynasty to the society.
