"Xixiangfeng" pattern is one of Chinese traditional decorative patterns, it has been existing in the prior 3 thousand years,but the academic circles have not carried on the thorough research to it. "Xixiangfeng" pattern can also be called "Shuangguan" or "Yi Zheng Er Po".This pattern in the shape of "S" as the axis, the whole circle will be divided into two parts, two sub patterns to the center of cyclotron twist, forward and backward, to form a smart and interesting pattern.Sub patterns can be arbitrary plant patterns, animal patterns, and even characters.In addition, the "Xixiangfeng" pattern can also be used with Fang Sheng pattern, Chu Pu pattern combination, form a variety of patterns.This paper uses the methods of material culture history, the "Xixiangfeng" issues related to the origin and evolution, the patterns of the application in the Ming and Qing Dynasty costumes and aesthetic characteristics of the pattern and meaning of study, combined with the ancient documents, unearthed and handed down in kind, was analyzed by cross contrast. This paper first introduced the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Qin Dynasty cultural relics, connected with the evolution of "Xixiangfeng" patterns. In addition, through the study of the Ming and Qing Mandarin Square,Juyi,Jifu,Taoist Costume,Opera Costume,Fabric,Waist tag,Zhang Shan on the "Xixiangfeng" pattern, to explore the cultural connotation of this pattern in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
