When it comes to the poem ''Xiaoxing",most of the poetry scholars think that the poem mainly shows that empresses don't envy anybody and they are so kind that the concubine can have the chance to try their best to serve their husband.while some scholars consider it as a poem which means that the statesman is diligent. This paper which is based on lots of literature research both at home and abroad and from the Han Dynasty to the period of the Republic of China,by studying the research from Japan and South Korea, the subject of the poem"Xiaoxing"which means that officials consider themselves toilsome has been clear. The paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter introduces some research on the author and the subject of the poem.As for the author, during the period of the Song and the Yuan dynasties,Dai Xi proposed that the author of the poem"Xiaoxing" was concubine, and then during the period of the Ming dynasty,Feng Fang thought the author should be an official. While at the Qing dynasty,Wang Wufeng deemed the author as the palace maids. However, during the period of the Republic of China, some scholars regarded the author as an official.Through the rearrangement and the analysis of the research,as far as I am concerned,I think the author would be the official, otherwise the specific person who wrote the poem still can't be known. When talks about the subject of the poem,by studying the domestic research of "Xiaoxing" which is before the Han dynasty and the period of the Han and Tang dynasties,as far as we can see,the poem explains to us that the meaning explanation of the poem coming from "poem sequence" is that madam benefits the concubine. And Zhu Xi explained that the subject of it should be that madam didn't envy anybody and they were so kind that the concubine could have the chance to try their best to serve their husband. Thus the explanation became the mainstream and more scholars began to develop the meaning of the poem.To the Ming and Qing dynasties, there were still many scholars think so,till Huang Zuo firstly proposed the idea that the poem showed the diligence of the officials of Zhang Junchen's.Hence, the original meaning of the poem emerged and more and more scholars agreed with it.The second chapter shows that the studies from Japan and South Korea focus on etiquette of church and state, which consider China as its root. The third part makes a conclusion that the poem "Xiaoxing" plays an important role in the etiquette, politics and religion, and even the social harmony. Its spirit can steer the way to make a great progress to the society. The poem "Xiao xing" meets the needs of the human spirits and has an infinite understanding about it.
