Schema Language Research Of Paul Gauguin's Painting

The schema language is a kind of expression of visual language, which shows the painters' cognition of and their attitudes towards something. As a unique and orderly visual style, it carries the painter's thoughts and is a medium state in the picture in which the painters' personalized languages are solidified. The first part is to sum up the purpose and meaning of research Gauguin's paintings through the literature collection and analyses. Even if the readers realize that the schema language is a kind of heart image of the painters who recognize the world and convey the feelings. It is personalized presentation of psychological characteristics based on the painters' cognition and understanding of objective things. The correct understanding and conscious building of unique painting schema language can help the painters to develop personal painting style to improve cultural levels and the spiritual connotation of artistic works.The second part is to interpret the concepts of the schemata, the schema language and its development in the painting. Schema, as the particular concept, influences the procedures of people processing information and further affects changes of the cognitive structure of people.The schema language is composed of modeling, color, video of images, which present the drawing patterns of the main characteristics of three-dimensional and planar spatial relations,the use of abstract lines, purified and decorated color relations and implied and symbolic visual images.The third part is to discourse paintings of the post-impressionist painter Paul Gauguin,analyze schema language characteristics presented in Gauguin's paintings, and dig the artistic features of conciseness, planarity, implicity and primitivism. It analyzes how Gauguin breaks the bondage in the condition of decorated pictures based on inheritance of impressionism more on the basis of inheriting impressionist. Furthermore, planar art characteristics are presented under the influence of Japanese prints and the oriental art. Then, the symbolic aesthetic interest is presented through the Gauguin's painting schema language and its relations to symbolism are explored. Finally, the reason is analyzed why the primitive art charms is presented in painting schema through digging his life in Tahiti and painting subjects.The fourth part is to summarize artistic value of the schema language in Gauguin's paintings through its influence on modern art and aesthetic value and research on the linguistic meaning.
