Since the studies on Interactive Movies have been ignored for a long time, there is one reason for that: the lack of suitable medium to carry them. The second is aiming at the definition of Interactive Movies and how to create an interactive video.The third is that it cost much more than making a traditional movie and also hard to make the money back. In recent years, the research on Interactive Movies has arisen day by day since the development of the intelligent terminals and wearable devices.The research in foreign countries is earlier than China. In 2014, the Committee of Future of Storytelling and Time Wanner launched the annual Fo ST Prize. As the first interactive storytelling competition recognized by authorities, it is designed to explore more creative works of telling a story with new techs. This thesis will also analyze intensively the awarded works in 2014 and 2015. In our country, Professor Sun Lijun put forward the concept of ‘the 3rd movie' in 2005. In 2011 the first set of‘the 3rd movie project' came out. However, the academic circles still rarely pay attention to this field or just focus on technical level. I will give a brief introduction about the history of interactive videos in Chapter 2. The former three parts of Chapter 2 try to find the elements in traditional movies which can be used in interactive videos.The latter three sections of Chapter 2 will focus on the videos based on webs, mobile terminals and new theaters as the new carrier of interactive videos. The 3rd, 4th and 5th Chapter is the core of this thesis and also a supplementary of Chapter 2. In Chapter 3, I analyze the traditional movies with interactive awareness from narrative structure and skills. In Chapter 4 and 5 I investigate the videos in webs, mobile terminals from narrative structure, skills, interactive ways and interface. According to these cases, in Chapter 6, I summarize a new definition of interactive videos and features, give a creative method to make interactive videos.And also, with conclusions drawn in the former part of these thesis, I used the software ‘Fang Zheng Xiang Yun' and lightboard and sand drawing materials made an interactive video < Night of Hunters 1 >. Through the research on the history ofinteractive videos within nearly 49 years and referring to Narratology and Semiology, the author concludes five narrative structure and the representative screen-split skills. Then on the basis of narrative, I analyze the videos based on webs and mobile terminals from the interactive behavior and user interface design additionally. Thus, we conclude the 5 steps and 12 issues method as a guidance to make interactive videos. It has a direct guiding significance to us in creating an interactive video.
