The Study On Design Of Yu Xian Paper-cut Visual Vocabulary Derivatives

Yuxian paper-cut is an independent artistic style, an art with rice paper engraving and stippling dyed. Yuxian paper-cut, shows the auspicious Yuxian people's simple positive attitude towards life with unique art form and the national colors. In 2006 Yuxian paper-cut was listed as the first batch in national intangible cultural heritage protection projects. Yuxian paper-cut was praised as "national gift boutique", while Yuxian was awarded as the "Chinese folk arts village" by the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association. Traditional paper-cut is mainly used in festivals, wedding decorations.Now, as cultural heritage required, Yuxian paper-cut derivates as a cultural symbol.Derivatives are by created designer based on their understanding of Yuxian paper-cut and was further processed, and re-designed, so that it can not only maintain the characteristics,but also could fit into the modern life. Explore Yuxian paper-cut's survival and development has an unusual significance to a certain extent.Four parts of the design of Yuxian paper-cut derivatives will be discussed in this paper. Part I: Introduction. The origin and status of existing domestic and foreign research was analyzed, the purpose and significance of the research, as well as the key issues and innovations was revealed. Part II: Detailed discussion of Yuxian paper-cut unique characteristics. An overview of the overall development of Yuxian paper-cut, was done along with its origins and the status. Further discussion within four aspects about Yuxian paper cutting was discussed. Part III: Take derivatives being carriers to folk art as a starting point, the system were analyzed from the definition of the concept of derivatives. Part IV: Take the innovation of Yuxian paper-cut derivatives as a starting point, the symbol extraction was analyzed, and combined a new interpretation and application for Yuxian city logo and posters were made with innovation, to promote and inherit Yuxian paper-cut and summarize with enriched visual language.
