Adjective is an important category in Chinese grammar system, of which the "noun-adjective" disyllable adjective is a subordinate category divided based on its components, which is composed of a noun morpheme and adjective morpheme. This paper systematically analyzed the 256 "noun-adjective" disyllable adjectives in the sixth edition of Modern Chinese Dictionary, and studies its word-formation evidence from the perspective of cognitive linguistics, which is an exploration of the theory of noumenal research on language and can guide and support Chinese teaching practices as well. This paper is divided into six chapters, in which chapter one is the preface and chapter six the conclusion. Chapter two focused on analyzing the grammatical and logical relations between the word-forming morphemes, and clarified the "noun-adjective" adjectives into three categories:subject-predicate structure, attributive structure, and associative structure. Internal lexical relation is influenced by semantic features and cognitive ways, and meanwhile, restricts the cognitive mechanism and construal strategies of the "noun-adjective" adjectives to a large extent. Chapter three, examined the semantic preference, cognitive features and semantic collocations of the noun morpheme and adjective morpheme respectively, and with some word examples, systematically summarized the diversity, selectivity and fundamentality of morpheme meaning, providing important basis for the summarization of cognitive mechanism and construal path in the following context. Chapter four used relevant theories of cognitive psychology and linguistics to explore the mechanism of "noun-adjective" adjectives. The four mechanisms have strong explanatory power when analyzing different kinds of adjectives, and meanwhile, have mutual connection with and effects on each other. Chapter five explored the construal path of man's psychological space when morpheme meaning forms lexical meaning, and tested different ways for people to express objective reality. Based on the preceding chapters'conclusion and the relation between morpheme meaning and lexical meaning, this paper summarized the construal path of "noun-adjective" adjective into four types:simple combination of morpheme meanings, combination of changed morpheme meanings, mutual effect of morpheme meanings after combination, change of lexical meaning after combination of morpheme meaning.
