About The Contradiction Of Okakura Tenshin Asiaism Of Investigation

This thesis is based on the related experience of Okakura Tenshin the first trip to China and India, to study the understanding of China and relationship between the East and the West.This thesis is based on the view of China and Japan, the East and the West, to recognize the contradiction of Okakura Tenshin's Asiaism. And what's more,to explore the reason and the effect of the contradiction.This thesis begins with the following form. The first chapter introduces the lifetime of Okakura Tenshin and the status among the Asiaism. He was called “the father of the Asiaism.”In academic status, it's difficult to define him and the scholars recognize the contradiction. Although the scholars have pointed out the contradiction of Tenshin's Asiaism,the reasons and the methods about the contradiction are not too much mentioned. I think if we delves into this contradiction, we'll re-understand it.The second chapter is based on the trip diaries, speeches and articles from Tenshin, to analysis the situation of the trip and the attitude to the relationship between China and Japan.What's more, we explore the changes about understanding of China. Thus, the “the weak”China was born and at the same time, “the strong” Japan also was born. Therefore, It produces the style of “the weak ” China vs “the strong” Japan.The third chapter is based on the idea of the East, the awakening of the East and the awakening of Japan to explore the relationship between the East and the West. In the view of Japan and China, the East and the West, we analysis the contradiction of Tenshin's Asiaism.And what's more, we explore the impact of the contradiction. Through this thesis, we can receive the following conclusion. The contradiction of the Tenshin's Asiaism is closely related to the international situation. Today, even if we want to criticize and evaluate the Tenshin's Asiaism. If we don't re-examine the international environment where the contradictions generated by and it will be difficult to have a more comprehensive view of the contradictions.
