The manufacture, storage and transportation of hazardous materials have always been the great concern of the government and related enterprises due to its great danger. Although there is a certain development in the technology and management system in our country, there are still many problems. The translation practice authorized by the client aims to help the front-line employees to learn the advanced experience in emergency response and management of Saudi Arabian Oil Company.The translation of Hazardous Material Emergency Response, a practice under the guidance of Skopos theory by Hans J.Vermeer, aims to ensure a professional translation and to meet the needs of target readers at the same time.To attain the goal, the author attempts to avoid hard translation and semantic ambiguity by using a smooth and clear language, in order to help the target readers learn the advanced experience in this field.The selected case are from the translation project offered by the Tianya Translation Co., Ltd.. The translation report describes the translation process,including the preparedness, process and quality control, and analyzes difficulties encountered in the translation process and measures taken accordingly, in the hope of providing reference for future translating of hazardous material emergency response.
