Translation Practice Report—A Case Study On E-C Translation Of A Textbook In Basics Of Rheometry

The report mainly focuses on the English textbook of the Anton Paar e-Learning course Basics of Rheometry, written by Anton Paar’s experts in the field of rheology. In addition, the paper discusses and summarizes the linguistic features of course texts by analysing parallel texts in Chinese and English. The report has also coped with the difficulties in the translation process from the angles of lexical meaning, syntax and discourse in order to find appropriate translation strategies for the translation of course texts. Moreover, the report has discussed the translation methods and strategies which make the English-Chinese translation faithful,accurate, smooth, fluent, standard and professional, and, in the meantime, contribute in a way to writing domestic bilingual rheology textbooks.
