Comparison Of The Ecofeminist Consciousness Between The Novel Of Shen Congwen And Lucy Maud Montgomery

Although Shen Congwen and Lucy Maud Montgomery live in different times and in different countries, but there are similarities in their novels. In this paper,starting from the ecological perspective of women by using the method of text reading and literature research to explore the ecological consciousness of female in their novels. Using the method of comparative method to analysis the differences of women and nature in the novel. The current research mainly from the domestic research status of Shen Congwen about his ecological writing at home and abroad.It also research the status of Lucy Maud Montgomery at home and abroad.Then researching the situation about two writers to explore both the value and significance of the study. This paper is divided into six parts. The first part researches two writers’ growing environment and the background of growth to explore their writing. To analyze them from the nature and female theme in their novels.The second part researches nature and women’s living condition. One is about women and nature harmony, the other is about nature and women both suffer oppression. The third part is using the perspective of cultural differences and gender perspective to analysis and comparison of China and Canada’s two different female images. The fourth part is researching from the time and the dimension of the space, from traditional and modern, from urban and rural to think about nature of female fate. The fifth part researches the ecological consciousness of women which was from the two writers of fiction to reshape the new women and the new social and cultural values, advocating discard male cultural centralism.The sixth part is conclusion.This chapter summarizes the first five chapters, further from the perspective of feminist to analysis the similarities and differences between Shen Congwen and Lucy in their novels.The two writers’ novels are of significance to the construction of contemporary novels and social ecological cultural values.
