| The wheel of time moves forward slowly, presenting the sight of a thriving society.The economy has developed rapidly since the reform and opening-up policy was carried out. People’s living standards have been improved to an unprecedented degree. But the development of spiritual and cultural aspects was far from satisfactory, presenting decadent tendencies when examining life.People’s lives have fallen into the predicament of decadence, a phenomenon more severe among young people. This phenomenon deserves to be given due consideration. In recent years, the internet has quickly penetrated into people’s daily lives, and become an inseparable part of them. At the same time, millions of people have fallen into the internet’s virtual world, and are unable to extricate themselves, disrupting their normal human interactions. The opening to the outside world, invigorated cultural exchange and cooperation, but resulted in Chinese culture experiencing the collision and mixture of indigenous and exogenous as well as traditional and modern. Faced with the pressure of life, culture became a territory of entertainment, rapid consumption replaced the profound sense of history and culture moved toward secularization. In this social transition period,values fiercely collide, people feel disoriented, individuality has overthrown the credibility of authority, people are eager to obtain a quick profit and there’s nowhere to place spiritual sustenance. In the end, this has led to the emptiness of faith and confusion of life.Every phenomenon has reasons for developing, and this paper analyzes and criticizes the phenomenon of decadence caused by the internet, multiculturalism and utilitarianism based on Marx’s theoretical views, and explains its adverse effects. Finally, a method for building a healthy spiritual home is proposed according to the manifestation of these three aspects. |
