The Research For Painting Style Of Ice-Snow Landscape In Northeast Of China

The landscape painting on ice and snow created by Zhixue Yu gave rise to strong repercussions at its first appearance in Chinese painting circle in the late 1970s, and attracted a great number of followers, which mainly describes snow and ice in cold North China that merely occurs in Chinese paintings. With artists' ceaseless endeavor, landscape painting on ice and snow becomes a unique art system. Nowadays, it is not confined in snow and ice landscape in North China but involves polar ice and snow around the whole world. And then some new artistic concepts are put forward like cold culture, Chinese paintings third aesthetic connotation- light and white system of Chinese paintings. The blank that snow, let alone ice, is impossible to be drawn in Chinese painting for more than one thousand years is made up by the emergence of landscape painting on ice and snow.This thesis researches style of landscape painting on ice and snow through analysis of expression methods, image and some other aspects. At the basis of articles wrote by Zhixue Yu and some other people and their video materials, this thesis makes a comprehensive research on style of landscape painting on ice and snow. This thesis is divided into three chapters. Chapter one focuses on studying the style of landscape painting on ice and snow from expression methods, image of snow and ice, material change, thoughts and theories and representative personage, complemented with the contrast with traditional snow-covered landscape painting. The second chapter mainly describes the background of emergence and status of research of ice-snow landscape painting.The record in the last chapter is the influence during my research to the ice-snow landscape painting. Zhixue Yu made a great contribution to the development of landscape painting on ice and snow with his teaching philosophy, inheritance is not repetition, everything lies in creation.
