This study adopts observation method, literature research methods and interdisciplinary research methods and aims to explore the picture and text constitute model in "Dianshizhai pictorial" from two aspects of drawing and narration. And as a case,we can found the historical motives of the prosperity of Chinese modern secular culture(Art).The rise of magazine industry, is a concrete manifestation of Modern Secular Cultural prosperity. The Dianshizhai pictorial is a pioneer in the late Qing Dynasty newspaper field. It is a representative precedent of modern popular painting. In this paper, a view that "the revival of image-text narrative tradition in late Qing Dynasty" is proposed, outstanding graphic narrative plays an important role in the society of the late Qing Dynasty, so as to the basis of "picture-and-text" perspective "Dianshizhai pictorial". Then from the Dianshizhai pictorial drawing and narrative perspective of the graphics and text structure analysis, illustrated graphic art and narrative mechanism is discussed, and based on this point of view, the rise and prosperity of modern Chinese secular culture(Art) this cultural phenomenon be interpreted.1. China graphic narrative tradition engendered a long time ago, but it is broken in long periods. Affected by the thoughts of "pragmatism", assisted graphic drawing skills to prepare, coupled with urban commercial stimulation, graphic and white used to traditional narrative can in the revival of the late Qing Dynasty. "The Dianshizhai pictorial" is a cultural product of the historical background.2. The Dianshizhai pictorial image formation model points for narrative prose, drawing for graphics, graphic interchange three part, which the second stage is the most important. Characteristics of Dianshizhai pictorial graphic drawing showing the perspective of hybridity, "simple and straightforward style of writing and drawing parallel", "news inscription" art reflects in the late Qing Dynasty secular artist mentality of the complex and creative techniques, the concept is not mature.3. "The Dianshizhai pictorial" in narrative text is divided into three aspects, namely the image narrative, text narrative and seal cutting narrative. Three narrative form of participation, "the Dianshizhai pictorial" constructed a set of from simple to complex, from easy to difficult reading, viewing system, in order to adapt to and meet different people watching visual and entertainment needs.4. With "Dianshizhai pictorial" as representative of the "new type of visual text" is painting involved in the narrative of the commercial cultural commodity, is the core elements of modern secular culture. Its formation is the result of the interaction between the Western publishers, the folk custom painters and the common people's three party forces. In the late Qing Dynasty, the folk communication of "new form visual text" has brought a "visual revolution", which has contributed to the prosperity of the modern secular culture together with the vernacular movement and the dramatic improvement movement.
