| Scientific English as a type of writing has its own significant personality traits, among which one of the characteristics of scientific discourse, clarity, requires the translator clearly convey the information and contents of the original text into the target text. However, since there are some differences between Chinese and English in such aspects as syntax, semantics, logic, etc.,so in many cases, when translating the scientific English into Chinese, the translators need to follow and adopt the explicit principle and translation strategies, converting the implicit logic of original text into the explicit, and create the target text that is close to the original meaning of the English text and takes into account the expression habits of Chinese language. From the perspective of semantic implicit logic, this paper selects the articles of the tech column in Science American as translated materials. In this paper, various semantic logics implied in the scientific English have been further discussed and three problems readily encountered during the translating have been analyzed in detail, that is,the default of semantic logic mark, the indistinction of semantic logic and the asymmetry of sentence structure between English and Chinese.Accordingly, the author also has given the suggestions about the proper translation strategies, which will provide some references to other translators, but be conducive to understand the original text more objectively and comprehensively for the reader. The translation practice shows that in order to translate it well, the translator must have strong analytical skills, because whether the understanding of the original text or the expression of the target one,it will need the help of logical analysis to clarify the implicit semantic logic inside the original language and manifest them in translation,so as to avoid illogical text and make sure the intelligibility and accuracy of the translation. |
