A Translation Report On The Basic Path Of China's Peaceful Development (Chapter One Section Two "the Achievement Of Balanced Development" And Section Three "to Consider Overall Situation At Home And Aboard")

With the rise of China,there are many issues worth studying on China's peaceful development.At present,Chinese government attaches great importance to the introduction of China's advocates on culture,politics and diplomacy.Meanwhile,more and more translators begin to pay close attention to Chinese culture.In the translation market,requirements for C-E translation among customers are increasing.For such reasons,the author chooses Section Two and Section Three: “The Achievement of Balanced Development” and “To Consider Overall Situation at Home and Aboard” respectively(around 15000 words)of Chapter One in the book The Basic Path of China's Peaceful Development written by Professor Li Jingzhi,a doctoral tutor from the International Relation Faculty of Renmin University,as the source text to translate and makes a brief summary.The source text is about coordinated development,involving regional development,urban and rural development and development in and aboard.Till now,no English version of the source text has been found after the author searching on Baidu,CNKI and other resources from the Internet.Based on the guidance of Skopos Theory and the analysis of the characteristics of the source text,the author adopts the translation methods such as addition,deletion,transformation and application,focusing on the words with Chinese characteristics,specialized vocabulary,loose sentences,subject-less sentences and the cohesion of the whole text.As the source text being categorized to political texts,it is similar to government documents such as Report on the Work of the Government in 2015 on wording and phrasing.The author intends to apply the formulations approved by the target readers to make the translated text understood and meet their reading expectation as well.At last,the author reviews the translated text and writes the translation report based on this translation practice.Through this translation practice,the author realizes the importance of review and grasps the translation skills of political texts.As a translator,one should be rigorous towards translation and make efforts on improving the comprehensive competence and ability of translation.
