Report On E-C Translation In Journal Articles From The Perspective Of Illocutionary Force

Translation is a cross-cultural communicative activity, aiming to reach maximum equivalence. In the process of translation, the difficulty is not to translate the source text literally but is to translate the illocutionary force and the implicit meaning into the target language properly, during which the target readers can have the same feeling and pragmatic effect with the readers of the source text. Therefore, in the process of translation, the translator should translate both the discourse meaning of the source text and the pragmatic meaning of the source text, and take corresponding measures to convey the illocutionary force appropriately, so as to achieve the equivalence of the illocutionary force.Based on the translation of journal articles, this paper reports some difficulties in the translation and how they are translated into target language from the perspective of the illocutionary force with case analysis. In order to achieve maximum pragmatic effect in the translation, the author aims to convey the literal meaning of the source text, the writer's intention, the implicit meaning and its illocutionary force in translation. The report analyzes in detail the application of the illocutionary force in the source text achieved in the target text and summarizes corresponding translation strategies. Meanwhile, guided by the classification of illocutionary force, further classifications on the translation related to the illocutionary force are conducted with clear reasons and an in-depth analysis with typical examples is made. The author hopes to provide useful reference for the journal articles translation through the analysis and summary of the practice report.
