A Report On Simulated English-Chinese Consecutive Interpreting Of Speech “Non-Profit Organizations Structural Operation”

An increasing number of foreign enterprises in recent years start to cooperate with domestic philanthropic organizations. Interpreting in this process stands as a bridge of communication and the quality of the interpretation exerts a direct effect on the productive cooperation between these organizations home and abroad. Thus, the author chose Operation in Non-Profit Organizations as the topic to conduct a simulated English-Chinese consecutive interpretation. This report, guided by the Interpretive Theory of Translation, elaborates the analysis of the interpreting cases. It aims at exploring the effect of the Interpretive Theory toward interpreting speeches related to public welfare.The report begins with an introduction to the backdrop of the simulated interpreting practice. The second chapter describes the process of the practice including pre-task preparation, task process, and post-task evaluation. A brief introduction to the core principle of the Interpretive Theory will be provided in the third chapter. The fourth chapter is a case study from the perspective of the Interpretive Theory. Strategies of note taking, comprehension, words and sentences, and limitations concerning the theory will be discussed in the fourth chapter. The last chapter is the conclusion of this report.This report aims to put forward some feasible suggestions on the improvement of the interpreting speeches related to public welfare.
