The Study On The Paradigm Of The Creation Society Spreading Marxism

Creation Society was a literary group set up by such people as Guo Moruo and Cheng Fangwu in the period of May 4th New Culture Movement. It was a pure literary society with a strong romantic colour in the initial period. And spreading Marxism became its main task later. For a long time, the research of academia has been mainly on the field of literary creation and less people have studied it from the spread of Marxism. A large number of folk cultural associations played a special role when Marxism was spread in the early stage in China, forming the unique paradigm of folk cultural associations spreading Maxism and Creation Society was one representative. Creation society turned to Marxism later. The external causes were from the influence of the Russian October Revolution, May 4th New Culture Movement, the May30 th massacre and National Revolution. The internal factors were due to writers’ suffering consciousness and the change of their worldview.Besides, the participation of young Marxists was also an internal one. The content of Creation Society spreading Marxism focused on theory of practice and class consciousness theory; literary criticism and drama were used as main carriers; setting up press to publish books about Maxism,conducting academic debate and carrying out revolutionary activities were the approaches. As the folk cultural association with great influence at that time, creation society took the lead to spread Marxism. Its choice of content, the main carriers and the basic ways reflected the characteristics of Creation Society, which effectively promoted the early spread of Marxism in China, set an example and played a leading role at that time. Besides, it provided beneficial reference for folk cultural community promoting contemporary Marxist popularization in the field of ideology.
