Creation Characteristics And Singing Analysis Of TV Series Empresses In The Palace

TV series Empresses in the Palace became a hit in 2011, and received extensive public attentions. In addition to its dramatic plots, its theme music and interlude music gained huge popularity. All the music in the play were personally prepared and created by Liu Huan. After listening to the whole work, the author thinks that it is a representative work of great research significance from the perspectives of art or appreciation. Liu Huan interprets the concepts of Chinese-style music with a unique music vision. It not only preserves Chinese classical music style, but also adds Western popular arrangement methods. By taking several classic songs in the play as the analysis object, starting from the aspects like music melody, lyrics and singing methods, the author further analyzes the overview of music styles and part of theoretical basis of music in this play.
