This paper, as the starting point of the image narrative, researches the image narrative language in animation, including the definition of the image in animation from the broad and narrow sense and it emphasizes the importance of media of image in the animation narrative. The image narrative in animation not only has the function in the external form of narrative, but also has the function of revealing things, poeticizing narrative. It summarizes the expression of features, expression of patterns and functions of the image in animation. And then it deeply discusses the role and significance of the expression of the narrative language in animation. Through back the source of animation, in order to understand the most different important technology between animation and movie is "standard photography", returning to the basic unit of animation from the camera, liberating from the language of lens, to explore value of animation in itself, and inspiring Chinese animation.
