With the rapid development of globalization, communications between countries have achieved great progress in governmental and non-governmental levels, which produces a boom in the tourism industry. Cross-country travel has become a major leisure time for more and more people in the world.The author bases his tourism experience with the ethics of translation in order to find out proper translating methods and principles for tourism translation, hoping it finally beneficial to the spreading and dissemination of the Chinese culture in the world. Translation is a special kind of textual travel which is subject to the norms of the social, cultural and historical background of the time. The issue of how to deal with the cultural factors of the target language in translation is closely related to ethics. The author of this thesis agrees with the ethical principle of translation proposed by Antoine Berman:"receiving the foreign as foreign", insisting the twelve deforming tendencies (rationalization, clarification, quantitative impoverishment, qualitative impoverishment, the destruction of expressions, ennoblement, the destruction of the underlying networks of signification, the destruction of the linguistic patterning, the destruction of the vernacular network, the destruction of the vernacular network, expansion, etc.) They ran against to Berman's translation ethics which should be avoided in tourist translation as well as in literary translation."Receiving the foreign as foreign" is the key principle for the thesis. The thesis stresses the point that foreignness of the original culture should be respected. In the process of spreading the Chinese culture to the outside world, tourism translation definitely plays an important role. Nowadays the popularity of non-English speaking cultures depends on tourism translation in some degree. As a result, the unique local cultural factors should be retained as much as possible in the hope that they will act as something that will resist and disturb the hegemony of the English culture.In order to illustrate and support the above translation principle, a number of examples have been given. These examples have been collected by the author from different tourist resorts. In the process of the research, the author could feel the big challenges which the Chinese culture faces. In analyzing the examples the author believes that the principle of "receiving the Foreign as foreign" is effective in translating tourism texts.The author of the thesis concludes that the tourism translation should be carried out on the basis of following the principle of "receiving the foreign as foreign", that is, to let the Other take the look of the Other rather than as the same, because what the target reader would like to know is a foreign world with all its particularities.
