At present,the study of children's theory of mind is carried out under the condition of the visual channel,ignored the condition of the auditory channel.Due to the auditory channel and the visual channel are fundamentally different in terms of processing information,combined with the physical properties of experiment material under the condition of the auditory channel are different from the visual channel,so this research wants to know whether the development of children's theory of mind under the condition of the auditory channel is different from the development of children's theory of mind under the condition of the visual channel.Within subjects design was adopted for this study based on 90 children aged 3 to 5as its objects,divided into three age groups according to age,in which each age 30 people,and the gender parity.According to Wellman & Liu(2004)theory of groups,we design four tasks under the condition of the auditory channel, combined with its own four visual tasks, to measure the two kinds of the development of theory of mind.The last five conclusions of this research:(1)under the condition of the general task,3-5 years old children have not significant difference of the development of the theory of mind of age and gender characteristics under the condition of the visual channel and the auditory channel.(2)In a single specific task under different channel conditions, the development of 3-5 years old children's theory of mind is different only in “multiple preferences” task and “false belief” task under the condition of the two channels.(3)The sex characteristics of the development of 3-5 years old children's theory of mind is different only in the “content false belief” task under the condition of auditory channel.(4)In four aspects to the difficulty of the task, the following order:“multiple preferences”task<“the lack of knowledge”task=“content false belief”task<“explicit false belief”task(5)Only in “the explicit false belief”task,children aged 3 to 5 have the significant differences between the scoring of the theory of mind problems and control problem.
