Since the 80 s of the 20 th century,Task based language teaching method through the continuous improvement and development. It has shown the advantages in foreign language teaching practice. At the end of the 20 th century, the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in our country introduced task-based teaching to the teaching Chinese as a foreign language for enriching the theory and practice. Task based teaching method has been proved that it is a kind of effective foreign language teaching methods. However, research about task-based teaching applied to the teaching of Chinese culture still not much, which give the author much space for further research.The cultural knowledge teaching is mainly aimed at the advanced stage of the students. The uniqueness of the characteristics of the students and Chinese culture also requires teaching should select appropriate teaching methods. Therefore, the author took Chinese traditional festival culture for an example, model and application of task-based teaching method in the teaching of cultural knowledge. Combined with the teaching objectives and characteristics of the course of Chinese culture, teaching design and detailed implementation of the classroom, finally, it is proved that the use of task-based teaching ideas and methods to Chinese culture teaching can really improve the students’ interest in learning, and improve the teaching effect.This paper is divided into five parts, including three chapters, plus an introduction and conclusion.The first chapter(introduction part) introduces the background, research value,research contents and research methods. Writer summarizes previous research,including the study of task-based teaching, foreign language teaching and research review of festival culture and task-based teaching for review of culture teaching.The second chapter, according to the current situation of the teaching of cultural knowledge, analysis of application of Task-based Teaching in culture teaching, and the design principle we should pay attention to it.In the third chapter, launched a task-based teaching in the design of the teachingof cultural knowledge, to cultural festival as an example of the overall design, which to the Spring Festival were careful teaching design, show the specific case of teaching and classroom implementation, the teaching analysis.The conclusion part is an overview of all parts, I summarizes the application of Task-based Teaching in the classroom to Chinese cultural advantages and shortcomings.
