On The Research Of Dialet Translation In Red Sorghum Of Thai Version

Dialect, as a commonly-seen language phenomenon, is characterized with some special features from the perspectives of area, time, society and personal elements. Dialect plays an important role both in fulfilling the figure of characters and in providing a special version for cultural research. Besides, dialect has its literal meanings, as well as its cultural characters and connotations. What's more, it embodies its social customs and class background.Therefore, there have been controversies in the translating circle when comes to the translating methods for dialect translation.The thesis is divided into six parts as followed.Chapter One is the introduction part,including research background, literature review, theoretical basis, the purpose and the significance of the research.Chapter Two illustrates the connotations of dialect and literal dialect, the characters of high-density dialect, and the special culture in Red SorghumChapter Three, Four, Five are the main parts. The research quotes some typical examples in Red Sorghumand analyzes the characteristics of vocabulary, idioms, syntax in dialect. And then the thesis explores the main translation strategies according to Eugene A.Nida in order to see if the translation has achievedthe effects of the functional equivalence.Chapter Six analyzes the cultural and translating transition in dialect.The results of the research will be helpful for the readers of different types and the translating practice in dialect translation. And it will fulfill the defects of the dialect translation.
