First year of a college student is an important transition period for a student who attends into a free college environment from the intensive high school. Many students face with different psychological problems in getting along with others. A survey explains that opposite-sex peer interaction is the main problem. Latest studies found father's presence is connected with children's gender role and interpersonal relationship, and could forecast the development of children's interpersonal relationship. Meanwhile, personal interpersonal relationship always keeps self-control company. Relative researches show self-control is related to interpersonal relationship, and also could forecast it. However, there is lack of research about father involvement and self-control.This research uses questionnaire survey, conducts an experiment in the father's presence, self-control, and opposite-sex peer interaction on freshmen who are from three junior colleges in Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, Jiaozuo.
