In 1946,Authorization and supervision by the United Nations,Australia began trusteeship of Papua New Guinea.Until the end after independence Papua New Guinea in 1975.Throughout the entire period of trusteeship,Can be roughly divided into four stages: The initial stage of trusteeship(1946-50);Stationary stage(1951-61);and the changing period(1962-69);Papua New Guinea's autonomy and independence(1970-75).At different stages within Managed,Australia constantly adjust relevant policies custody,In response to the development of the region of Papua New Guinea and indigenous peoples.And the pressure exerted by the international environment.During nearly three decades of trusteeship.It is not only the modernization process of decolonization and the profound changes,but also for the Australian defense and security strategy in the South Pacific region and has great effect on foreign policy.
