Viewshed Analysis In Conservation Planning Of Huangpu Military Academy’s Second Branch

At this stage of rapid urbanization,city’s culture and economy should be built simultaneously.Cultural relics protection units are the city’s tourism resources and they can promote the city’s economic development.To a certain extent,they can reflect the cultural connotation of the city.In order to secure the protection of cultural relics,conservation planning needs to be prepared for the national cultural heritage conservation unit.And conservation zoning is the focus of conservation planning.Scientific and rational division of conservation zoning is directly related to the level of protection of cultural relics and the executable degree of planning in management practice.With the "red tourism" booming,an increasing number of cultural relics protection units are exploited as tourist resources.Conservation planning is a special heritage conservation planning.The conservation planning needs to strengthen the protection of cultural relics,and to promote the culture.Relics’protection area not only needs to protect the security and integrity of their heritage,but also needs to be designated from the perspective of sightseeing space visibility.Huangpu military academy’s second branch site is located in Wugang City,Hunan Province.It is the seventh installment national cultural heritage conservation unit announced by the State Council.It is one of the important military educational institutions during Chinese Anti-Japanese War.Scientifically protection and utilization of the site is of great significance in inheriting and carry forward national cultural traditions.Firstly,in terms of relics conservation status,heritage Value Analysis and landscape composition in site,this paper analyzes the current situation of the site’ protected object,then the main task of site’s conservation planning is clear.Secondly,on the basis of the site’s landscape area can be regarded,this paper analyzes the geospatial of the site area by using the visual domain analysis in ArcGIS software.The background Coordination range of Li Minghao House and Zhongshan Hall is found.And site’s tour route is determined by comparison between two viewshed programs.Thirdly,according to the results of site situation analysis and viewshed analysis,the site’s conservation zoning is determined.Lastly,in terms of landscape protection,artificial building control,display publicity of historical and cultural,this paper puts forward recommendations for protection and management conservation zoning.According to the result of situation analysis,cultural relics in Huangpu military academy’s second branch site can be divided into Zhongshan Hall,Li Minghao House and Faxiangyan karst caves three parts.Zhongshan Hall building preservation is better.Li Minghao House building preservation is worse.Faxiangyan karst caves preservation is in general level.The site has outstanding historical,artistic,social and scientific value.Natural landscape,ruins landscape,cultural landscape,artificial building and facilities landscape constitute the site’s landscape environment.Among them,the integrity of the natural landscape is better but the environmental quality needs improvement.In the ruins landscape heritage buildings is in need of repair.Cultural landscape’s inheritance is poor.Artificial building and facilities landscape is uncoordinated with the historic look of the site.According to the result of regional visualization analysis,the topography in Huangpu military academy’s second branch site area has obvious ups and downs.The highest point is Faxiangyan’s peak,and it is far from Zhongshan Hall,close to Li Minghao House.The surrounding farmland,residential areas have moderate terrain.Based on viewshed analysis module in ArcGIS platform,choosing Zhongshan Hall,Li Minghao House as the viewing point,this paper identifies the scope of their respective coordinating background.This scope should be focused on the protection or improvement in protection planning.According to ArcGIS path viewshed analysis,by comparison,tour route can be designed to "Wugang Ⅱschool-Wang Xi’ao residence-Zhongshan Hall-Faxiangyan Peak-Faxiangyan karst caves entrance-Li Minghao House".The road has better visual experience,also it has a large range of activities,and it is more attractive to visitors.Combined with the site’s viewshed analysis results and the urban planning in Wugang City,this paper identifies protection domain in Huangpu military academy’s second branch site 7.3 hectares,and construction of controlling zone is 26.8 hectares.Construction of controlling zone is subdivided into class Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ three level area of 3.5 hectares,13.2 hectares,10.1 hectares.In protection domain,ruins landscape namely heritage buildings need to be repaired.Protection project can be divided into focus on maintenance,protection consolidate,clear demolition,and routine maintenance.In order to ensure the landscape in the construction of controlling zone harmonious with the historic character of the site,area infrastructures need to be improved,building height need to be controlled,the surrounding architectures need to be regulation.At the same time,the showcases promoting site’s historical and cultural need to be strengthened,carrying forward the Huangpu spirit,inheriting the cultural landscape in site.
