Now, it’s a golden time of China’s economic development, and whether the waste problem can be well-handled will directly affect China’s economic development. However, the rapid growth rate and the poor ways of waste disposal in China are a real concern.The thesis is based on the translation of extracts from Lean Waste Stream :Reducing Material Use and Garbage Using Lean Principles. The book is written by Marc Jensen, the director of the University of Oklahoma(OU) Lean Institute. In the book, he reimagines the problem of garbage through the lens of Lean Management and proposes unprecedented perspectives on how to dispose waste and garbage.This translation practice report mainly covers two parts. The first part is an analysis and summary of the translation practice project and the second part is ten-thousand words of Chinese-English translation practice. Moreover, the first part can also be divided into the following three chapters. The first chapter is an introduction of this translation practice’s background and meaning. The second chapter is to describe the translation process. The third chapter is the key part of the thesis, which analyzes the difficulties of translation and the solutions of it. The last chapter is the conclusion of this translation.The thesis aims at exploring translation methods of informative text of science and technology which the author will discuss words and sentences based on prior researches, and offering a comprehensive theory to this kind of text.
