Dusseck is a productive composer during the second half of the 18 th and early 19 th century,He wrote 28 piano sonatas, 15 piano concertos, double piano concertos, piano trio, narrative opera, mass, 38 violin sonatas, 16 Flute Sonatas, etc, which greatly affected most of the piano composers of the later Romantic. Piano Sonata in F minor is Dusseck’s later work which was regarded as a classic one in Czech piano music. This passage is consisted of four sections: the music story of Dusseck, his contribution to piano reform, Dusseck’s piano sonata and the influence of his works, by which we can study Dusseck’s historical role and contribution to music.Dusseck, as a composer, has slipped from our memory. He filled the gap among Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven. We can get a clear picture of the evolution of piano performance through the study of his works, understanding his reform and innovation in piano performance and further attention to his piano sonatas. Although Dusseck has been forgotten once, his contribution to piano performance is undeniable. It is worthy of in-depth study. |
