In recent years, with the development of Chinese economy, tourism has become a pillar industry in China. The inbound travel has significant meanings in developing economy and communicating the cultures between China and other countries. So the translation of tourism texts appears very important. As a practical report about the translation of tourism text, this thesis is mainly about one C-E task that extracted from the Tourism Text of Longhu Mountain conducted and it analyses the main and typical translation cases in the text, the thesis focuses on some common difficulties and problems in the C-E translation of tourism text as well as the strategies and solutions under the view of Communicative Translation Theory.(Newmark,2001b)Newmark(2001a) divides the text into three types according to language function, that is, expressive text, informative text and vocative text. By analyzing, the source text belongs to the combination of informative text and vocative text. A translator is obligated to reflect the source text faithfully as well as pay more attention to the readers. Thus, the target text should make the source readers and target readers get the equivalent informative effect as much as they can. However, the informative text focus on that the target readers can receive more information from the target text in the maximum. Although the differences in the informative text and vocative text, yet the combination of the two texts can cultivate the tourism interests of target readers. The expression modes and grammatical system differ in each other between the Chinese and the western and the thinking patterns, cultural traditions and social convention are also different. On the premise of keeping the preciseness and standard-ability of the text, the practice report solves two problems which have impeded the improvement of the tourism texts under the guidance of communicative translation theory.1) How to deal with the linguistic features of tourism texts?2) What specific translation methods have to be adopted in the translation environment of C-E translation of tourism texts especially when meeting information and culture problems according to the communicative translation theory? For the linguistic features of tourism texts, the thesis deals with the translation from two aspects: dealing with flowery phrases and disposing the loose text structure. For the information problem, the thesis deals with the translation from two aspects: transferring and reconstructing. For the cultural problem, the thesis mainly emphasizes on the transferring of Chinese cultural elements, especially the Taoism culture.Under the guidance of communicative translation theory, two major conclusions can be concluded: Firstly, the functions of tourism texts, that is, informative function, expressive function, and vocative function. The original text and target text probably have many different points in the way that the functions realized. Secondly, communicative translation theory is suitable and flexible enough to deal with the linguistic and cultural problem. In the total, in the communicative translation theory, more attention has been paid to the vocative text, informative text and their texts analysis. This practical report indicates that a good mastery of the textual features, lexical, syntactical and cultural features of the tourism text is very important. By analyzing and applying, the communicative translation theory can solve the problems which exist in the translation process, and make the function of target language identical with the function of source target, at last help the readers understand and accept source information better.
