In 1985, with the appearance of the Chinese avant-garde movements which regard Ma Yuan as t the leader of the army, Chinese avant-garde fiction has made a hot discussion on the literary world by breaking the familiar narrative way and the subversion of the reader’s reading habits. In the vanguard novel gradually subsided after the 1990 s, the younger generation writers suddenly appear as a new force, and inherit the avant-garde writers’ form explore. Despite the form innovation and destiny written form a paradox, but whether it is an avant-garde writer or younger generation writer, they break through the traditional writing mode at the same time, also describe the survival prospect of contemporary people as much as possible, unfold the character’s destiny, and showing some kind of mental attitude.The thesis takes the destiny written as the Chinese avant-garde novel’s breakthrough point; pays attention to the protagonists’ survival situation in these fictions;digs out the hidden behind the novels of the author’s thoughts and feelings about the fate; looks for the reasons of the avant-garde authors are particularly concerned about the fate of ups and downs, since mid-eighties when personal sense recovery. And explores two generations of writers’ different answers in questioning the fate in different background by combines the younger generation fiction with avant-garde classic fiction.This thesis divides into four chapters, which is Chinese avant-garde fiction’s destiny written; the Chinese avant-garde fiction’s narrative art; the difference between the destiny written of the Chinese avant-garde fiction and the younger generation fiction; the reason of their differences and similarities. The first chapter discusses the destiny written of the avant-garde fiction from the three angles of life, death and fate.The second chapter further analyzes the role of Chinese avant-garde fiction’s form explore in the motif of fate in four ways: meta-fiction narrative, accidental events in the younger generation fiction, narrative perspective and narrative time. The third chapter analyzes the younger generation fiction from two aspects of fate written:content and form. The fourth chapter summarizes the paper, on the whole to find the similarities and differences between the Chinese avant-garde fiction and the younger generation fiction’s destiny written.
