Mo Yan won the Nobel Prize for literature with his novel. However, his winning and the speech he made in Sweden, entitled "Storyteller" keynote speech, is visually pushing the Chinese literature to the literary world. Mo Yan's speech has draw attention of literary world both in quantity and quality, and of great research value. It has produced great influence on academic circles, but academic circles to Mo Yan's rich speech resources mining is not enough, the speech attention is mostly concentrated in the "Storyteller ". And the systematic and holistic research on Mo Yan's speech is still blank in the academic circles.Mo Yan's populace is reflected in every aspect of his literary works, including novels, essays, speeches, etc.. The author found that the existing civilian researches are mostly based on Mo Yan's novel creation, the researchers seems to keen to find the clues of civilians in the carnival and magic text. However, imagination and fiction in the novel is bound to affect the reality, accuracy and integrality of the research. Relatively speaking, the speech is an important part of literary creation, in order to study the civilian nature of Mo Yan, you can't do this without the important text. Moreover, there is no precedent for the study of Mo Yan's civilian nature through speech. Therefore, this paper, based on the systematic collation of Mo Yan's speech, combined with the relevant theories of the speech, studied the civilian nature of Mo Yan centered on his speech, and of unique academic value.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part mainly explored Mo Yan's life course and the formation of the civilian according to the content of his speech. According to Mo Yan's speeches, including "Hunger and loneliness is my creation of wealth", "Reading with ears", "Story Teller", "Novels and hometown", “Writers' dream”, the author grasps the significant effects that the memory of childhood and upbringing had on the formation of Mo Yan' populace. Through the speech found that the unique life history in Mo Yan's heart continue to ferment and change, long-term accumulation and precipitation makes Mo Yan unconsciously examine his world view, outlook on life and values on civilian perspective, and then planted the seeds for populace complex.In the second part of the thesis, the author mainly studies the concrete presentation of the civilian character in Mo Yan's speech, which contains the problem of the complex. As to complex, nostalgia and local complex is more common in the academic research. Local complex is talked about the most here in Mo Yan's speech, but there is little research on his civilian complex. Although each speech is for a specific, practical problems explodes not without reason, but populace complex is invariants in his speeches. So in this part, the author starts from the psychological sense of complex, by the analysis of subjective color of the selection of subject matter, consistent content of speech and language style of humor, to interpret the populace complex in Mo Yan's speech.In addition to populace complex, there is an important quality in populace, it is civilian perspective. The author believes that there is a certain relationship in Mo Yan's speech between the civilian perspective and his civilian identity. He bluntly sticks to the creed of "writing as the civilian", and the down to earth story in his speeches, all these indicate that there is a inseparable relationship between civilian perspective and Mo Yan's speeches.In the third part of the thesis, the author explained the civilian perspective and Mo Yan's speech from the perspective of Mo Yan's own considerations and his persistence to literary creation. Among them, the speech “writing as the civilian” is a direct expression of Mo Yan's persistence of civilian perspective in the literary creation.In the fourth part of the thesis, the author makes a comparative study of the civilian character between Mo Yan's speech and novels. Populace is an indispensable quality of Mo Yan's literary creation. However, the novel and the speech are two kinds of literary forms, which are different in the expression of populace. So, the author makes use of Mo Yan's most influential speech- "Storyteller", combined with the speech dialogue theory, by comparing the expression's straightforward and concealed, the true and false, highlights Mo Yan's speeches that goes direct to viewers and starts with the life experience and personal experience, is the most effective form of expressing his populace.In the last part, the author concludes and sublimations the populace in Mo Yan's speech, concluding the speeches' significance in contemporary literary world into four aspects: with civilian speech going to the world, highlighting populace is writers' same feelings of creation, making the current fickle literary world convert to authenticity and providing the beneficial enlightenment for the current civilian literature creation. Here, the author concludes Mo Yan's speeches from a rational point of view and the grasp of rules, highlighting the profound impact of the speech-centered civilian.
