The adjective "fat" and "thin", used to describe body form of human, are the indispensable parts of language, which features prominently in quantities and functions. Meanwhile, as linguistic unit for human to cognize their body shape, they are not only of certain complexity, but also great research value. By document analysis method, the author analyzed overseas and domestic research status and determined research perspective and contents of this paper; Based on Detailed Dictionary of Russian and Chinese and Modern Chinese Dictionary and data of word frequency dictionary,this paper also found that the correspondences of (?) fat and ?????-thin, and then analysized connection of the semantic item of each words and compared Russian with Chinese; "object", "fat" and "meat" are the common sememe of semantic field of "fat" and "thin". Accordingly, the author summarized 53 adjectives of "fat" and "thin" in Russian and Chinese, separately, and analyzed sememe of all the adjectives in semantic field. By using formal methods to build sememe analysis model,13 models in Russian and 17 models in Chinese were determined. Then through the contrast experiments, to classify sub-fields. And based on corpus'exemplifying the syntactic function of Russian-Chinese core adjectives "fat" and "thin", this paper obtained that its primary syntactic function was as attributive and subject, object and complement for secondary syntactic function. Comparative research on Russian and Chinese adjectives related to "fat" and "thin" can advance the study of lexical semantics and benefit practice on translation and language teaching.
