In August 2015, Su Tong's new book, the book of Yellowbird Record won the ninth Mao Dun literature prize. Critics said Su Tong returned to the "Xiangchunshu jie", but Su said he was always in "Xiangchunshujie", never to leave. "Xiangchunshu jie" novels are created from the prototype of a Suzhou old Street where Su had lived during his teenage life. Actually, "Xiangchunshujie" has become a landmark of Su Tong's novels, which consists of many recurring novel space, such as houses, streets, rivers. Su projects his thoughts and emotions onto the three spaces, to make them have the symbolic significance, and become the space imagery. In this paper, the space imagery manifestations of "Xiangchunshujie" novels, which including houses, streets and rivers space imagery, are analyzed by close reading. In Su's novels, the dark, ugly houses space is presented in closed forms. In contrast, Streets space is open space which leads to every household, making families join together. What's more, River space has fluidity, and flowing rivers closely connect the rural and the urban. Symbolic houses, streets, rivers space images involved in the narrative and plot structure of the organization, promoting the development of story narration. In the narrative process of space image, including houses, streets and rivers, Su Tong has created its own unique world. Su's literary world consists of the unique southern literary world, the unique southern spirit and the unique literary spirit. Unique southern world is a world full of desires and send forth the smell of death. The spirit of the southern world is composed of fallen spirit and drift spirit. Meanwhile, Fallen and drift have modern consciousness. Modern man will have a spiritual decline and drift for can't find home of spirit and soul. Behind the southern spirit is the literary spirit of Su Tong. Su's literary spirit is essentially a humanistic concern, which reveals and describes the dark side of human nature by ugliness way. Su's works achieve a humanistic care by castigating the fake, evil and ugly of humanity. Su Tong proposed humanity black hole, he believes humanity is a state of chaos, needing to continue to explore. The fake, evil and ugly is mixed with the truth, kindness and beauty. Only if we are brave to face the fake, evil and ugly, can we have a deep and thorough understanding over the truth, kindness and beauty. Therefore, Su's literary world has a transcendent reality and truly modern meaning.
