A Translation Project Report Of ADB-Financed Integrated Chongqing Urban-Rural Infrastructure Development Project Phase

This is a translation project report for Asian Development Bank(ADB)-Financed Integrated Chongqing Urban – Rural Infrastructure Development Project Phase?. The source text(ST) is composed of three parts: Chapter 1.16.2-1.18 of Technical Specification, Environmental Monitoring Inception Report and Bill of Quantities, co-authored by Chongqing Development and Reform Commission(CDRC) and Halcrow(Chongqing) Engineering Consulting Company. It outlines an overview of engineering technical specification contract and specific construction requirements of each subcomponent in several districts/counties. While translating the project, the author employs translation methods such as negation, conversion, thematic transference, amplification and omission under the guidance of functional equivalence theory so as to present an accurate, authentic and natural translation version.The paper consists of four chapters: 1) Project Components, consisting of the background, objectives, significance of the project and layout of the report. 2) Project Profile, including introduction to ST authors, the general information, contents and comments, the structure, and features of the language used in ST. 3) Translation Difficulties and Methods, covering translation difficulties, translation preparations, translation methods, and examples that can expound on the translation methods used in the target text(TT). 4) Conclusion, comprising lessons from the project and aspirations for further study.
