The main academic of Qing Dynasty is the textual research.Dai zhen is the main representative of the textual research of this time and his philosophy leads the trends of the development of philosophy in the Qing dynasty.Dai Zhen's main scholarly method is combined with textual research and elucidate the theory. He applied the philosophy research methodology of “Probing logos through Philology”to his philosophy system and set up his own “New Neo-Confucianism” that is different from the “Neo-Confucianism of Song and Ming Dynasties”. His philosophy can be said is another development of the inner logic of “Neo-Confucianism”.The Add Annotations to the Doctrine of the Mean fully embodies the scholarly method of Dai Zhen.Formally, the Add Annotations to the Doctrine of the Mean supplements the “Annotations to the Doctrine of the Mean” of Zheng Xuan. But in terms of thinking,it is mainly oppose the “Commentary on the Chung Yung”of Chu Hsi. Dai Zhen's interpretations of the “Add Annotations Doctrine of the Mean” shows a totally different situation from the “Neo-Confucianism”.It is not only an achievement on the reflection and criticism of the “Neo-Confucianism”,but also is the harbinger of anti the “Neo-Confucianism”.This paper is on the basis of the “Doctrine of the Mean” of Zheng Xuan,by contrasting the different annotations of the “Doctrine of the Mean” from Dai zhen and Chu Hsi is to show the different thinking of them. The paper mainly divides into four chapters:The first chapter introduces the basic situation of Dai Zhen and the “Add Annotations to the Doctrine of the Mean”.The second chapter mainly discusses different annotations about the two important philosophy concepts that are the “equilibrium and normality” and the “ritual” of Zheng Xuan,Dai zhen and Chu Hsi.Zheng Xuan thinks that the “ritual” comes from the “equilibrium”;Chu Hsi takes the “equilibrium” as the core, but Dai zhen takes the “normality” as the core. The third chapter mainly starts with the theory of “Tao”,by combining annotations of Zheng Xuan contrasts the different theory view about “Tao” of Dai zhen and Chu Hsi. Chu Hsi thinks that the “Tao” is same as the “Principle” and the “Tao” contains the “substance and function”;Dai zhen opposes Chu Hsi's theory of Tao,he proposes “Tao” is “Human Ethical Daily Life”and “Tao” contains “the way of heaven” and “the way of nature”.The fourth chapter opens up from the theory of “Gongfu”,discusses their different “moral cultivation Gongfu”.Chu Hsi discusses his method of “moral cultivation” from “cautious and fear”, “emotions shown or latent”and “honoring the virtuous nature and following the knowledge”.But Dai zhen puts the “cautious and fear” as innate “honoring the virtuous nature”of the method of moral cultivation and puts the “achieve moderate” as acquired “ following the knowledge”of the method of moral cultivation.Through his own new annotations for the “Doctrine of the Mean”,showing a unique way of moral cultivation. In short, through the new annotation of the Doctrine of the Mean,Dai zhen falls the ultimate philosophical meaning on the “Human ethical daily life” and elucidates his thought “add Zheng and anti Zhu”.
