In the face of the growing product similarity and the worship for high-tech products, this paper has proposed the new concept of micro-lift to integrate the function, creativity and existing technologies into the creative product.Improved design exists in the early time of human development and it has a long history. In those countries that improved design has fully developed, there are three major forms of improved design, such as the re-design by designers or design firms?design competitions and some large commodity improvement companies. In these design system well developed countries, improved design can provide a comprehensive service for the public's daily life. However, improved design has another situation in coastal areas of China. The major form of improved design in China is the SMEs. Because of the particular form in China,It's necessary for us to have a deep consideration about the development trend of improved design in China.By choosing the typical household and non-household clothes dryer as the research subject, this paper has analyzed its feature, tendency, advantage and disadvantage with the concept of micro-lift. In order to illustrate the rationality of the product, this paper has also carried out the experiment and test extensively in the fields of product feasibility, behavior feature and development path. I have always believed that the demonstration of product design examples and design ideas is one of the important sources which learning and generalize about the product design methods. The micro-lift design methods root in these daily necessity designs, but it's still not perfect especially in the primary stage.The methods need more design practice from designers and researchers for improving the system of design methods. Improving the theoretical system is not only the accumulation of academic theory; it is the design practice summary from the birthplace of Chinese industrial design-PRD. This summary is more conducive to identify the market position of SMEs, correct design ideas and grasp the market opportunities in the market competition. The micro-lift design methods are trying to accomplish a dual purpose in the academic as well as the practical aspects.
