Ecotourism, a rising form of tourism which strikes a balance between the conservation of the natural environment and tourism development, has received great attention from home and abroad. Nature reserves, embodied with scientific and tourism value, bring new favorable opportunities to develop ecotourism. Therefore, Chinese-English translation of nature reserves is of great significance to attract foreign tourists and accelerate the international development of ecotourism.Based on the translation practice of Huping Mountain Nature Reserve, this report intends to use the skopos rule, coherence rule and fidelity rule from Skopostheorie put forward by German Functionalist School to explore the appropriate translation methods and strategies. The report is composed of five parts. Chapter One gives an introduction to research background, purpose and significance of the report. Chapter Two describes the translation process which includes preparation before translation and proofreading of translation. Chapter Three provides a relatively systematic elaboration of Skopostheorie. Chapter Four, the main body of the report, firstly analyses difficulties encountered in the process of translation from the aspect of words and sentences, and then studies the proper translation methods on the typical translation examples selected from the source text. In consideration of the features of source text, the purpose of the translation version and the demands of target readers, this report adopts amplification, omission, annotation, conversion of voice, recasting and other methods to convey information as accurate as possible, thus achieving the goal of both attracting foreign wildlife experts to research and regular tourists to go sightseeing. At last, the report makes a conclusion of progress made through the translation process as well as the defects of the translation version, and emphasizes the necessity to further improve the author's theoretical attainment and practical ability in translation.
