This is a project report on translation of Health in the Post-2015Development Agenda for Asia and the Pacific, which is downloaded from the official website of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The source text is a working paper of ADB on sustainable development, highlighting the post-2015health challenges in Asia and the Pacific and also the measures to address these challenges. The source text features clear and standard structure and formal writing style. It contains many medical terminologies, comprising diseases names and medical organizations. In addition, passive voice and compound sentences can be seen frequently in the text.Based on Reiss’s text typology, the translator identifies this source text as an informative text, and establishes three translation principles, which are "content-focused","reader-oriented" and "conforming to Chinese idiomatic expressions". In the process of translation, the translator encounters difficulties like the translation of medical terminologies, the translation of complex compound sentences and precise expression of the text. And the measures the translator takes include checking and proofreading, transforming sentence pattern, combination and division, and restructuring. This report elaborates on the translator’s process of translation, including pre-preparation work, difficulties and solutions as well as after translation work. It is hoped that this could be a reference for the translation of the same kind of text.
