Like the most decoration of European blue and white porcelain, the famous "Blue Onion" pattern of German Meissen porcelain is elegant and delicate. Since it was born on the European continent in the 18th century, it has been very popular. Its distinctive characteristics and long history makes it a rare case in the European ceramic decoration study and cross-cultural research. Based on combing the concept of the pattern, basic characteristics and evolution of the style during the 18th and 19th centuries, using formal analysis and the method of literature, many possibilities for the origin of this design were discussed in this research. This article first has clarified about the nature of the combination of the pattern and its popularity, briefly reviewed the concept on linguistics. Through F.J.Ferner's decorative "Blue Onion", see out of the forming of the concept should be no later than the middle of the 18th century. The style is from realistic to ornamental step by step. Then basically denies the possibility of the view "kangxi blue and white porcelain", points out the shortages of the view "Meissen creation". This paper argues that under the influence of Frederick Augustus ?'s actively under cultural policy, anonymous craftsmen in Meissen porcelain factory dismantled the oriental visual model, and then recombined to produce the pattern of "Blue Onion" powder painting, by discussing a few core elements of the template source, like daisies, pergolas bamboo and symmetry grass. This design has come down, is loved by the people of Europe, it is because in the process of formation and redecoration, this pattern both retained the elements which can satisfy the Europeans oriental imagination and show the breakthrough and innovation strength of the European porcelain decoration. At the same time, the "Blue Onion" pattern design a variety of treatment effect also help us to ascertain the social concept, European botany cognitive level which remains in the true history.
