The Investigation And Research On The Buddhist Arts In Qinzhou Area During The Yuan Dynasty

In the Qinzhou area adjacent to the Tibetan area of the south of Gansu province,although Han Buddhism was once pervasive there in the history,Tibetan Buddhismgreatly influenced this area. Now plenty of Tibetan Buddhism works can be foundfrom the current Tianshui area. The typical one is Shuiliandong Grottoes of Yuandynasty in the Wu Shan county; the number of Maijishan Grottoes statues of Yuandynasty are small but also belongs to Tibetan Buddhism; besides, XianrenyanGrottoes and Muti Temple Grottoes also have the Tibetan Buddhist art works of Yuandynasty. All these evidences prove that Tibetan Buddhism was pervasive in Qinzhouarea during Yuan dynasty.
