Objective:Patients with prostate cancer were treated with maximum androgen blocking endocrine therapy to observe whether the changes of metabolic indexes and the degree of change after treatment were affected by the level of serum PSA.Methods: Patients who were diagnosed as prostate cancer by history, imaging, serum PSA,pathological report after transurethral prostatectomy and biopsy of prostate were selected, from November 2012 to March 2017,in Urology Department affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University.Patients who met the inclusion criteria were selected and retrospectively analyzed the changes of metabolic indexes, and whether they were affected by the initial serum PSA level after maximum androgen blockade of endocrine therapy. All the participations were divided into two groups according to untreated serum PSA level,PSA?20.00 ng / ml group and PSA> 20.00 ng / ml group.the level of serum PSA,serum testosterone, red blood cell count, platelet count, hemoglobin, albumin, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, fasting blood glucose, total gallbladder were measured before and after treatment.SPSS17.0 software package was used to analyze the relevant data. The measurement data of the same group were compared by paired sample t-test.The measurement data of two groups were compared by independent sample t-test.The incidence of metabolic complications was compared by chi-square test.P <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: After the maximum androgen blocking endocrine therapy, there were significant differences in the above metabolic indexes in patients with prostate cancer. There was no significant difference in the level of metabolic indexes after maximum androgen blockade in patients with different initial serum PSA levels, and the incidence of metabolic complications was not affected by the level of serum PSA.Conclusion: The metabolic indexes of prostate cancer patients after maximum androgen blocking endocrine therapy were changed. The main changes include the decrease of red blood cell count, platelet count, hemoglobin, albumin, high density lipoprotein count, and the increase of low density lipoprotein, fasting blood glucose, total cholesterol and triglyceride count. After treatment, the level of metabolic indexes and the incidence of metabolic complications were not affected by the level of serum PSA.
